Hillary is a professional fiduciary, serving clients all over the State of Georgia as a courtappointed and privately nominated Administrator, Executor, and Trustee for estates andConservator and Trustee for incapacitated adults and minor children. In these roles, Hillaryserves on approximately 100 active cases.
From 2007 to 2014, Hillary served as staff attorney for the Gwinnett County Probate Court and law clerk for Judges Walter J. Clarke and Christopher A. Ballar. In 2014, Hillary was sworn in as the first Associate Judge of the Cobb County Probate Court, as appointed by Judge Kelli Wolk. In 2015, Hillary returned to Gwinnett and was sworn in as the first Associate Judge of the Gwinnett County Probate Court, where she served alongside Judge Ballar until June, 2019. Hillary joined the firm in July, 2019. In 2020, Hillary was sworn in as the second County Administrator/County Conservator for Gwinnett County, to serve alongside Michael T. Smith. In 2021, Hillary was appointed as County Administrator/County Conservator for the Probate Courts of Cobb County, Rockdale County, Athens-Clarke County, and Sumter County. In addition to these court appointed cases, Hillary accepts private appointments to serve as estate representative through the Wills and estate plans of private individuals, and she accepts appointments as Conservator and Trustee to receive wrongful death, personal injury, and worker's compensation settlements.
In these capacities, Hillary and her team at Georgia Fiduciary Group provideboutique fiduciaryservices, including drafting and filing initial pleadings and settlement protection trusts in probateand superior courts; administering estates, conservatorships, and trusts; asset managementthrough carefully selected and trusted financial advisors; real and personal propertymanagement; tax matters; and successfully discharging and closing estates, conservatorships, andtrusts.
Hillary is the current editor of the Probate Judge's Handbook and Benchbook, published through the Council of Probate Court Judges of Georgia. The Handbook is available to attorneys throughout the State of Georgia and can be accessed through
www.gaprobate.gov. In addition, Hillary is honored to be called upon to return each year to the Council of Probate Court Judges spring training to speak to Georgia's probate judges on estate and guardianship matters. Hillary also enjoys conducting regular trainings on estate planning for the Gwinnett County Human Resources program for county retirees, various continuing education courses through local county bar associations, and other programs at local civic group gatherings.
Hillary grew up in Douglasville, Georgia and currently resides in Suwanee. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Georgia (2004) with degrees in both English and Advertising. Hillary obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia School of Law (2007).
